I found this site was interesting and informative and applicable timeing since two weeks ago with the March for Life week which interestingly enough coincides with Dr Martin Luther King as both are attempting to stand for the rights of some that have none or little or unequal in comparison to others just because of something one has no control over like skin color/race and in this case just being conceived.

A silly and quickly thought up argument for the Right to Life for the unborn using the Declaration of Independence just thought up on the spot for fun so forgive me for any flaws...
 
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life..."
 
It seems to boil down to how you define "men" and when "created" happens. Is it inclusive or exclusive of life before birth. In times past "men" was not inclusive of certain races/sexes according to some which thankfully now is. So far the courts seem to have declared that unborn children are excluded from the definition of "men". Now if that "Creator" in the DOI is the Creator as revealed in the scriptures it is clear that the unborn should be included and since the DOI brings up the subject of the Creator being that which "endow"s us "with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life" then "to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men...That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it". Now I am not suggesting abolishment here but rather "alter" and granting the "self-evident" "truths" as laid out in the DOI we should act to "alter".
 
It seems to me at least in this context, that to support the womens right to choose over the unborn childs' right to life is to assume that the unborn child is not inclusive of the definition of "men" and thus not "created" yet and thus does not have "equal" status in comparison to the fully grown adult woman. Or that a child in the womb is not equal to a child minutes after outside of the womb. I am curious to know what happens that gives that child a right to life when it crosses that threshhold of being from inside to outside the womb. Or back to the "created" point of reference. What makes a child in the womb not "created" and then outside of the womb "created". In my opinion it seems the only thing is the US Supreme Court's Decision in 1973 (it could be then curious to check into the reasoning given there) and if that is the only thing (and it is unreasonable) then let's "alter it" with better reasoning. For me I agree with the DOI in some points that being the "self-evident" "truths" but also that the Creator has revealed principles that can be applied to this issue as revealed in the scriptures and according to those principles life begins before birth thus unborn children "are created equal" as anybody else would be outside of the womb. Biblically speaking the womb is where we are "knit" together or "created" and should be "created equal" as anyone else that has come from the womb which would override the right of a woman to choose for the two are equals and must be treated as such.
 
Now I am not sure how much bearing the DOI has on this issue but just reasoning with thoughts from the DOI it would seem to lead one to conclude that religion should enter the discussion given that our rights are derived from our Creator and if so then our Creator defines when life is "created" and if so then the Creator as revealed in the scriptures allows for the rights of unborn children. Now for me it is settle in His Word rather then the DOI but I thought this perspective may be somewhat interesting though possibly flawed using the DOI.  But maybe some valid points in the context of rights issues.
